FSANZ is a small science-based organisation. Enquiries about the Food Standards Code are often complex. For this reason it’s often better to use our contact us form

We will answer your enquiry as soon as we can. Responses can take up to a week for a simple enquiry or two-four weeks for a complex one. We answer your enquiries in the order they come in and we appreciate your patience.

Questions about enforcement and interpretation of the Code is the responsibility of state and territory agencies or departments in Australia. In New Zealand it is the responsibility of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. See a list of relevant agencies here.
