Code Interpretation Service

The Code Interpretation Service (CIS) provides coordinated guidance about  implementing Chapters 1 and 2 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Guidance provided by the CIS will be published as guidelines on the FSANZ website. State and territory governments have agreed that the advice will be adopted and applied by state and territory food regulatory agencies. New Zealand is not a party to the inter-governmental agreement for the CIS.

The CIS guidance is provided on a cost-recovery basis.
