FSANZ64 (2–3 December 2015)

At its 64th meeting held in Canberra on 2 and 3 December 2015, the FSANZ Board approved four draft variations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code:

FSANZ Fellows Program

The Board considered and endorsed the appointment of Dr Vanessa Jordan and Professor Samir Samman as FSANZ Fellows. The Board noted that Dr Jordan’s and Professor Samman’s specialist skills in the methodology of systematic reviews and micronutrients, respectively, would be of significant benefit to FSANZ’s work.

Teleconference - 28 October 2015

At its 28 October 2015 teleconference, the FSANZ Board approved two draft variations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code arising from the following:

FSANZ63 - 14-15 September 2015

At its 63rd meeting held in Canberra on 16 and 17 September 2015, the FSANZ Board approved five draft variations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code).

Financial statements

The Board formally approved FSANZ’s financial statements for 2014-15 following the completion of the annual audit by the Australian National Audit Office.

Science Strategy 2015–2019

The Board formally approved the FSANZ Science Strategy 2015–2019 and noted the final document will be published on the FSANZ website in October 2015.

Teleconference - 12 August 2015

At its 12 August 2015 teleconference, the FSANZ Board approved a draft variation to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code for the following Proposal:

FSANZ62 - 17-18 June 2015

At its 62nd meeting held in Melbourne on 17 and 18 June 2015, the FSANZ Board approved four draft variations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

FSANZ61 4–5 March 2015

At its 61st meeting held in Wellington, New Zealand, the FSANZ Board considered the Draft Assessment (Abandonment) of Proposal P235 – Review of Food-Type Dietary Supplements. The Board agreed to abandon the Proposal.

Labelling Review

The Board received an update on activities in respect of actions referred to FSANZ by the Forum on Food Regulation (as part of the government response to the Labelling Logic: Review of Food Labelling Law and Policy (2011).

Strategic Planning

On the day prior to FSANZ61, the Board convened for a strategic planning session to continue development of its next three-year Corporate Plan which will commence on 1 July 2015.

FSANZ Fellows

The Board considered and endorsed the re-appointment of Professor Ken Buckle, Professor Nigel French, Professor Stephen Goodall and Professor Seppo Salminen as FSANZ Fellows. Each of these FSANZ Fellows has made a valuable contribution to the ongoing work of FSANZ.

During its meeting in Wellington, the FSANZ Board took the opportunity to meet with a range of industry, consumer, public health and government stakeholders.

Teleconference - 11 February 2015

At its 11 February 2015 teleconference, the FSANZ Board approved one draft variation to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code).
