Food enforcement contacts

​​In Australia, compliance with the Code for all foods is monitored by authorities in the states and territories. In New Zealand it is monitored by the Ministry for Primary Industries and public health units.

The Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is responsible for the inspection and sampling of imported food.

Food regulation authorities in Australia and New Zealand work together to ensure food regulations are implemented and enforced consistently.
