Since October 2024, we’ve been publishing a Board Communiqué after each meeting to give everyone, from food businesses to consumers, an inside look at the work that we do. The communiqués highlight key decisions, discussions and priorities, strengthening transparency around how we contribute to the joint Australia New Zealand Food Regulation System.
The Communiqué from the September 2025 Board meeting is now available. It includes:
- approval of new egg food safety and primary production requirements (Proposal P1060)
- approval of thermolysin as a processing aid in a range of foods (Application A1288)
- outcomes of a 5-year review on human-identical milk oligosaccharides in infant formula (Application A1155)
- insights from the Board’s annual risk workshop
- farewells to 3 long-serving Board members.
The next Board meeting will be held via videoconference on Wednesday 29 October.
